Posee una prodigiosa capacidad de síntesis, simplifica casi radiográficamente los objetos y, al hacerlo, hace de los mismos generosos porteadores del silencio interior de quien los contempla.


Rafa Chevira no transcribe sino que crea; reproducir no es, para él, la vocación del artista, sino que prefiere planificar, crear en un solo plano, el perfil de la realidad y hacerla evidente. Se delata en su propio quehacer pictórico, como si el ejercicio mismo de la pintura constituyese un proceso de descubrimiento. Como Picasso, niega las apariencias. Como Velázquez, las recompone.
